O, year that is going, take with you
All the evil that dwells in our hearts;
Let selfishness, doubt,
With the old year go out--
With joy we would see them depart.
O, year that is going, take with you
Impatience and willfulness--pride;
The sharp word that slips
From those two hasty lips
We would cast, with the old year aside.
O, year that is coming, bring with you
Some virtue of which we have need;
More patience to bear
And more kindness to share
And more love that is true love indeed.

2009 is Soon Coming to an End!
It is hard to believe it is almost 2010! 2009 will soon be history. We are here in AZ having such wonderful weather while most of you are shoveling snow and fighting the elements. If you have spent the summer here, 65 degrees seems cold!!! We aren't use to it that chilly. It is so nice to go out and not have to scrape windshields and worry about slick roads! I guess we are very spoiled.
It has been so much fun finding and visiting all the quilt stores in town. We hope to go to another one tomorrow we haven't been to yet. I just wish one or two of them were just a little bit closer to us. I must get in gear and get some sewing done before I buy anymore material. It is so fun, fun.

TRUST
He does not lead me by the year
Nor even by the day
But, step by step my path unfolds
My Lord directs my way.
Tomorrow's plans I do not know,
I only know this minute:
But He will say, "This is the way,
By faith, now, walk ye in it."
And I am glad that it is so;
Today's enough to bear,
And when tomorrow comes, His grace
Shall far exceed its care.
What need to worry then or fret,
The God who gave His Son,
Holds all my moments in His hand,
And gives them one by one.
Nor even by the day
But, step by step my path unfolds
My Lord directs my way.
Tomorrow's plans I do not know,
I only know this minute:

By faith, now, walk ye in it."

Holds all my moments in His hand,
And gives them one by one.

The Awesome Atlantic!
I never fail to stand in awe of God's great handiwork!
You can only see a little of the ocean
A few miles distant from its rocky shore
But oh, out there beyond our eyes' horizon
There is more, immeasurably more.
You can only see a little of God's loving
A few rich treasures from His boundless store
But oh! out there beyond our eyes' horizon
There is more, infinitely more!

Labor Day Week-end!
We are finally getting a little settled in our new home! Boy, has it taken us a long time! Our get-up and go has got up and went!! Last evening we had a thunder storm and had a nice rain. The temperature dropped, so that is nice. It was in the high 80's today. So that is a big break from three digit temperatures....I am not complaining, because we love it here. The winters are so wonderfully great. So nice not to have to get out all your winter clothes, shoveling snow, and have to stay home because the roads are bad: and the snowbirds will soon be returning, so we are looking forward to that. We have lovely times together. We look forward to our daughter and granddaughter coming this week. We miss them all so much. Seems really strange not to be at the NW convs. Washington was a great experience in our life..it was an oasis in the desert to us. A very enriching experience! We didn't choose it, but didn't refuse it either. We have some dear friends and workers there. We'll never forget them, and what they have meant and mean to us. You all have a great Labor Day week-end. Tomorrow is a big day for us with two mtgs. but Monday we just plan to stay home and play catch-up!!
