December 21, 2007

2007 is almost history! Wow, where has the year gone? We have had some nice rains the past couple weeks. Actually, today we had a thunderstorm. It has been a long time since we have been in a thunderstorm! It was kind of neat! but that is enough for a while.....It has been in the 60's in the day time. At night it gets down to 38-40 degrees. It is a clear night so it might get pretty chilly. At least that is what it felt like when we were at the pool! Oh, the warm pool feeeeels so great!!!! Never dreamt we would be able to go to an open pool in the winter time.!! We got a new cook stove, and I think I am reall going to like it. It is glass top...radiant heat, and a self-cleaning oven. Also you can set the oven to come on and go off and a certain time. Neat! Today is our youngest daughter's birthday. She turned 33. What does that say about our age???

December 2007

I haven't been with you for a long time. A lot has gone on since then. Our kids came to see us a few weeks ago, so that helps feel more like home here. We have enjoyed the warmer, dryer weather, and going to the pool almost every day. It is a real treat, and it helps our back and muscle pain. Last Friday and Saturday we got over an inch and a half of rain, so the desert will be blooming as paradise!! We hear it is raining, raining, raining, in WA and OR. Wow!!!

Meet us in our new home.

MOVING!!

We couldn't sleep this morning, so we are up and at it.... Took the bikes over to the storage unit, so they will be ready to load. One week from today we hope to be heading south. Today we are going to try organize things a little and wrap a few more pieces of furniture. We pretty well have everything packed except what we need. Think we have help lined up to help us, too. J. will be gone a couple days next week to an area meeting. That sure came at a good time. He has to be in P. early Fri. to pick up the truck we will load. I need to take care a few business things next week, like changing addresses, etc. I even made pancakes this morning. Guess I felt rather hungry when we awoke. The weather has been beautiful. No rain yet, but more on the cooler side, and partly cloudy. HaRah, HaRah, AZ here we come!!!! Oh, yea, we are going to miss our OR grandchildren very much. That thought gives me a funny feeling. They help keep us young. We have already missed our other grandchildren..

FALL IS IN THE AIR!!

Summer has gone by so fast, it is hard to believe that school has started and our conv. our over in the west. It has been a wonderful summer, beginning with a trip to Montana, for our grandson's graduation. Then we went to the coast for a couple days. I guess before our trip to MT I went to AZ with four of our grandchildren for a week to attend conv. That was special. We have spent a lot of time with our other grandchildren in OR. They have spent time here with us, too. Seems like we are keeping really busy, and we have 2 weeks until we head for the sunny south!! Time is passing!! We are looking forward to a warmer, dryer winter.

Beautiful day!

It was beautiful day in the gorge...75 degrees and a strong southwest wind. We enjoyed the afternoon watching windsurfers and parasurfers on the Columbia after eating Chinese food for dinner. We also stopped at the train depot in HR to take pictures of a train for a little boy who loves trains. Summer is going so fast. July is almost in the past!!

Gpa took this for you know who??

Where is summer going?

Summer is going by so fast! Wow! June is almost history. How are we going to do all we want to do? I have been wanting to do some sewing, but haven't gotten to that yet. Have some overnight bags cut out. They are so fun to make because the are just beautiful when they are finished. They are a quilted bag. Guess I won't get to sew any quilts maybe until winter. I have been wanting to get in to the walking mode, and haven't accomplished that either. We have been wanting to go to the pool, but it has been pretty cool. Sounds like the forecast is for warmer weather next week. Have a great summer.
